In India, minors have a maximum of 5 years of validity for an Indian passport. If you are between the ages of 15 and 18, you have the option to apply for a 10-year validity Indian passport. In this scenario, your passport will be treated like an adult passport, and you need to go through police verification.

The minor's passport validity is restricted to 5 years or till they turn 18, whichever is earlier. However, minors who are aged between 15 to 18 years can apply for a 10-year validity passport or for an Indian passport, which is valid till they turn 18 years of age. Depending on which passport category you applied for, the fee varies.

In India, the validity of an Indian passport for children up to 18 years of age is 5 years only from the issuance date or until the minor attains 18 years of age, whichever is earlier. However, children who are aged between 15 to 18 years can apply for a 10-year validity Indian passport, which remains valid till 18 years of age. In this case, the fees for the passport remain higher, and a 10-year validity passport is only issued after police verification.
