The full form of PAN is Permanent Account Number, and the primary uses of a PAN card are for Indian citizens and foreign nationals. It is used to fill out Income tax returns, for purchasing property, vehicles, and making deposits in a Bank over INR 50,000. A PAN card can also be used as an identity proof, investing in mutual funds and insurance, applying for a loan application, and for the goods and service tax registration.
