The Indian government has declared a deadline for converting a PIO to an OCI card, which is December, 31,2025. After this date, all the PIO cards were considered invalid, and you cannot travel to Indian with a PIO card. If you didn't convert your PIO to an OCI card, then you will need to apply for a valid visa through the concerned FRRO or FRO. However, until the deadline, the Indian Immigration check post will continue to consider the PIO a valid card, and you can use this to get entry and exit in India.
All the PIO cardholders must convert their PIO cards into OCI cards through the conversion application. This will help me to get all the benefits of an OCI, and if they apply for a PIO to OCI conversion, then it will be free of cost. They are not required to pay fees for the conversion application, as announced by the External Minister.
