Hi everyone,
I'm traveling to India from the UK tomorrow evening and have been trying to complete the India e-Arrival Card online, but the website doesn't seem to be working properly.
I started the application yesterday and entered all my passport details, flight information, accommodation address, and emergency contact information. Everything looked fine until I reached the final stages. The website keeps freezing, logging me out unexpectedly, or showing a blank page when I try to move to the next section.
Today I tried again using Chrome, Safari, and even my mobile phone, but I'm still getting errors. Sometimes the page loads very slowly, and other times I get a message saying the service is unavailable. I haven't received any confirmation email, reference number, or QR code yet.
My flight to Delhi is less than 24 hours away, and I'm worried that I won't be able to complete the Digital e-Arrival Card in time. I'm a British citizen of Indian origin and have already completed all my other travel requirements.
Has anyone else experienced the India e-Arrival Card website not working right before their flight? Did the website eventually start working again? Were you able to submit the application at the airport or after arriving in India if the online system was unavailable?
I'd appreciate hearing any recent experiences, especially from travelers who flew within the last few weeks.
My experience was slightly different.
I was traveling from Toronto last month and the website appeared broken, but the issue turned out to be one of my uploaded files. The upload seemed successful, but the system wouldn't move beyond the review page.
I reduced the file size of my passport image and re-uploaded it. After that, the application went through immediately.
You may want to double-check:
In my case, the portal never displayed a clear error message, which made troubleshooting difficult.
I ran into a very similar issue two weeks ago before flying from London to Mumbai.
The India e-Arrival Card website was timing out constantly and would log me out every few minutes. I honestly thought the portal was down. I kept trying throughout the evening without success.
The next morning, around 6 AM UK time, the site started working normally. I completed the application, received the acknowledgment, and got my QR code within a few minutes.
From what I've seen, the portal occasionally struggles during peak hours when many travelers are submitting forms. If your flight is tomorrow evening, I'd keep checking periodically rather than assuming there's a problem with your application.

I recently traveled from Australia and noticed that the website was unavailable for several hours before it started working again.
A few travelers in another discussion mentioned seeing blank pages and "service unavailable" messages during the same period. It seemed more like a temporary portal issue than a problem with individual applications.
One thing that helped me was saving screenshots of each completed section. When the session expired, I could quickly enter the information again without starting from scratch.
If you have already completed most sections, check whether a draft application has been saved in your account. Mine was still there after the website came back online.
