On the contrary, a standard passport is for general travel, such as tourism, business, or personal trips. It is issued to any citizen of the issuing country for all types of international travel.

Diplomatic passports may have shorter validity than standard passports. Typically, a diplomatic passport features a distinctive color on the cover to distinguish it from a regular passport. The diplomatic passport will be maroon in color, while the regular passport will be navy blue.
