Hi, my family and I will be travelling to India this month, and we are planning to stay there for more than six months. We have already booked the tickets, but our OCI application status is still showing Under process. If we do not receive our OCI documents before we leave for India, what are our other options?

OCI card allows foreign nationals of Indian origin to travel to India without any visa or reporting the duration of their stay. But if your OCI card is in process, then you have to apply for an e-visa to travel to India with a valid passport.

Yes, you can travel to India if your OCI application is in process, but you should have a valid visa, like a work visa, a tourist visa, or any other visa, and have a valid foreign passport. If you have all these, then you can easily travel to India while your OCI card is in process.

I had the same doubt last week while my OCI card was in process. I traveled to India using an e-tourist visa, and I encountered no issues at immigration. However, the thing is, once you obtain an OCI card, it becomes much more convenient. You can travel to India at any time without worrying about applying for a visa each time.

Does anyone know about the processing time for an OCI card? I have my tickets booked for India, and I need to leave in the next 3 weeks. My OCI card status has been showing "Under Process" for almost 5 weeks now. Does anyone know what to do now? Should I wait for my OCI card, or should I apply for a visa and travel?

I was considering applying for an OCI card, but I've heard that the OCI application process can take up to three months. Unfortunately, I need to travel to India next month. So, should I wait until I return from my trip to India, or should I apply for an OCI card and then travel to India?
