I am writing this so that you can avoid making silly mistakes that I made.  My OCI application was rejected because I made a data entry error on my application form. I accidentally put my Indian passport information where US passport information was required. They rejected and returned my application and asked me to reapply using a fresh application.

Do I need to pay my application fee again if my application is rejected, or will I be refunded for the rejected application and then required to pay the fee again for the new application?

Take my suggestion and apostille all your documents that are issued outside India because starting from December 30th, 2024, any document issued outside India must be apostilled before applying for an OCI card. Currently, this requirement applies in India and the USA.

My application was rejected a few times due to very minor mistakes that I made through carelessness. I then decided to ask Visament to help me with my application, and that was the best decision I made. My application got approved quickly, and the process went smoothly without any stress.
