Where can I surrender my Indian passport in the UK?

I recently surrendered my Indian passport after acquiring British citizenship through the VFS Global center in London. For me, the process was straightforward, as I had read all the instructions and guidelines before applying, and gathered all the required documents, which saved me time. I applied for the surrender process online and booked an appointment before visiting the Hounslow office to submit my documents physically and provide my biometric data. The staff there was helpful, and within 10 business days after my appointment, I got my surrender certificate.

Sharing my experience with you, when I applied for a surrender certificate in the UK, I mistakenly sent my surrender application to the wrong VFS center. I lived in Edinburgh and posted my application to the London office. It resulted in the application rejection. Then, I went through the same process again, but this time I selected the correct place for application submission, and the whole thing took two extra weeks. Therefore, my advice to you is to cross-check the location of the VFS Global center twice before making a selection.
