No, PIO cardholders cannot travel to India after 31 December 2025, because it is the last date for the PIO card. However, they can travel to India before 31 December 2025, with a valid passport. The Indian Immigration check post also considers your PIO card valid, which you can use for exit and to get entry in India.  However, if the PIO cardholder failed to convert their PIO to OCI, then they need to get a valid visa from the FRRO for traveling to India.

Yes, PIO cardholders could travel to India easily until 31 December 2025. After the deadline validity of the PIO card, you need to get a visa from the FRRO or Indian Mission, or a post, to safely travel to India.

I have travelled with my PIO card before the deadline date, which is December 31, 2025, and converted my PIO to an OCI card through the online conversion application, and submitted all the supporting documents.
