The deadline for the PIO card is 13 December 2025. It means that the Indian immigration accepts the Persons of Indian Origin cards with a foreign passport until 31 December 2025. Previously, the deadline for the PIO card was 31 December 2024.

The PIO card is only valid till December 31, 2025. After this, all the PIO cards will be invalid, and individuals will need to apply for a conversion of the PIO to an OCI card as per the Government of India. If the PIO cardholders failed to get an OCI card before the last valid date of the PIO, then they need to apply for a valid visa from the Indian mission or post for traveling to India.
