Yes, you can travel to India if you don't have an OCI card. With a valid visa, you can enter India for work, tourism, or study purposes by submitting all the necessary documents.

I regularly follow OCI discussions, and one thing I've learned is that airlines can be stricter than immigration authorities. Even if someone believes they're eligible for OCI, airline staff usually need to see a valid visa or OCI travel authorization before allowing boarding.

A friend of mine traveled on an Indian e-Visa while waiting for his OCI application to be processed. Later, after receiving the OCI card, he used the OCI for future trips.

Every case is different, especially if an OCI application has already been granted but the card has not been received. In those situations, it's worth checking directly with the consulate or airline before departure.

My situation was slightly different. My OCI application had already been approved, but the physical card hadn't arrived yet.

I contacted the consulate and was advised not to assume that approval status alone would be accepted for travel. Airlines generally check travel documents before boarding, and they often want to see the required visa or OCI documentation.

To avoid any issues, I postponed my trip until I received the OCI card. It was frustrating, but I didn't want to risk being turned away at the airport.

I faced a similar situation last year in the USA. My OCI application was still pending when I needed to travel to India for a family emergency.

Since I didn't have the OCI card in hand, I applied for an Indian visa and traveled using that. Immigration officers only checked the visa and my valid foreign passport. Once I returned home, my OCI card was delivered a few weeks later.

Based on my experience, eligibility for OCI doesn't automatically give you entry rights. You need either a valid OCI document or a valid Indian visa to travel. Requirements can change, so I would still verify the latest rules before booking.

Yes, you can travel to India without having an OCI card with an Indian visa. To get a fast indian visa, you can apply for an e-visa for Indians through the official website, where you need to fill out the application form, pay the fees, get your Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA ), print your ETA, and check securely through the immigration check post and get a stamp on your e-visa.

For travelling safely to India without an OCI card, you will need to apply for a visa for Indians. There are many types of visas that you can apply for, like the tourist visa for Indians, business visas, and work visas. For all visas, you need to provide all the details and upload all the necessary documents for a smooth and easy application process. Correct application and the right documents will result in faster visa delivery.
