If you have an Aadhaar card with the correct name, you can apply online using that Aadhaar card for name correction by using eKYC.

Wrong spelling in your PAN card means you may also have another document, like your Aadhaar or voter ID card, that has the wrong spelling. So, firstly, correct your spelling on the Aadhaar card if that's possible, and then apply for PAN name correction to avoid further issues.

Whether it's a name mismatch, wrong date of birth, or address update, everything can be corrected or updated online. It is such an easy process that can be done using the NSDL or UTIITSL portal. Make sure that the information you are providing is accurate and supported by submitting valid documents. In case you end up submitting a document again that has the wrong name, then there is no point in regretting it later.

The same thing happened with me, and I applied for the correction through the NSDL website online. I uploaded the documents that had my correct name, verified the OTPs, and paid a small processing fee. I got my PAN card with the correct name within 10 days.

In case you are not comfortable with the online process, you can apply offline as well. You can visit any nearest PAN card center with the valid documents and fill out an application form for the name correction and get it rectified there. In case you are changing your name due to marriage or any other legal reasons, then you may have to submit other supporting documents as well. So, do verify what is required before visiting the center.

Make sure that the name is correct on the supporting document you are submitting and want on your PAN card. Just provide some valid ID proof that contains your correct name, and the correction will be done easily.
