Yes, I recently completed my son's Indian passport surrender application in the UK, and even though he is still a minor, I had to book an appointment as his parent to submit the documents in person. So, don't think that you can skip the appointment for your minor because you absolutely can't.

Yes, you need to book an appointment for your Indian passport surrender in the UK. Try to keep yourself prepared in advance because it will help you facilitate the whole process at the centre. Make sure that you have everything ready when you visit the centre because any incorrect or missing documents will lead you to book another appointment and more waiting.

Yes, booking an appointment is mandatory, as well as the most stressful part of the application process. I live near Birmingham, and here, they release the appointments in batches. You need to be quick if you want a slot. I had to wake up early in the morning and refresh the page quite a few times. You need some patience to secure a slot, and yes, an appointment is mandatory.

I got my surrender certificate a few days back, and yes, you definitely need to book an appointment with VFS Global, as there are no walk-in options.
