I'm hoping someone can share their experience with this. My OCI card application was approved recently, but I'm unable to view or download my e-OCI card online.
I applied from New Jersey, USA, through VFS, and my application reached the Consulate on May 28, 2026. After several weeks of processing, the OCI status page showed that my card had been printed and later updated to indicate that the OCI document had been dispatched. A few days after that, I received my physical OCI card by mail.
The problem is that when I log into the e-OCI portal, I don't see any digital OCI card linked to my application. I expected the e-OCI card to be available once the application was approved, but there's nothing to download. I've tried using different browsers and checked again over the last few days, but the result is the same.
Has anyone had their e-OCI card not visible after approval even though the physical card was already issued? Did it eventually appear on its own, or did you have to contact the Consulate?
I'm not in a rush to travel, but I'd like to keep a digital copy for future reference. I realize the system may update at different times, so I'm curious whether this is something others have experienced recently.
Mine was a little different because I applied from London, UK. My e-OCI card became available a couple of days after the final status update, but I had to make sure I was entering the exact passport number used in the application.
At first, I accidentally entered my old Indian passport number instead of my current foreign passport number, and the portal couldn't locate the record.
It's worth double-checking that you're using the same details that were submitted with the application. If everything matches and the card still isn't showing after some time, you may want to contact the relevant Consulate or VFS for guidance.
I had almost the same situation after my OCI application was approved through VFS Toronto. My physical OCI card arrived first, but the e-OCI card wasn't available online for another week or so.
I initially thought something had gone wrong, but it eventually appeared without me needing to do anything. From what I understood, the digital record was updated separately from the physical card dispatch.
If you've already received the physical OCI card, I wouldn't panic right away. In my experience, there can be a delay before the online version becomes visible.

I applied from Sydney, Australia, and experienced something similar earlier this year. The online status indicated that my OCI had been issued, but the e-OCI card wasn't immediately available.
I waited about five days and checked again, and it showed up without any action on my part. I also noticed that the portal seemed to work better during off-peak hours, although I'm not sure whether that actually made a difference.
Based on my experience, there can sometimes be a gap between approval, physical card issuance, and the digital version appearing online. Every case seems to follow a slightly different timeline.
