Digital e-Arrival Card Application Stuck at Final Submit Page

Hi everyone,

I'm traveling to India next week from the USA and recently tried completing the Digital e-Arrival Card application online. Everything seemed fine until I reached the final submit page. After reviewing my details and clicking the submit button, the page just keeps loading and never completes the submission.

I first attempted the application three days ago using Chrome on my laptop. When it got stuck, I tried again on Microsoft Edge and later on my phone browser. The same issue happened every time. I filled in my passport details, flight information, address in India, and uploaded the required documents without receiving any validation errors.

The confusing part is that I never receive a confirmation email, application reference number, or QR code. When I log back into the portal, I can't tell whether my Digital e-Arrival Card application was partially submitted or not. I don't want to create multiple applications if one is already in the system.

My flight is scheduled in six days, so I'm starting to get a little concerned. Has anyone experienced their e-Arrival Card application getting stuck at the final submit page? Did it eventually go through, or did you need to start over?

For reference, I'm an Indian-origin traveler living in California and will be arriving at Delhi Airport. Any suggestions or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

One suggestion is to avoid clicking the Submit button multiple times if the page appears frozen. I know it's tempting, but multiple clicks could make it harder to tell whether the application was actually accepted.

When I traveled from Singapore to Chennai, I waited for a while, then checked whether the application could be retrieved using the reference details I'd noted earlier. Fortunately, it had been processed.

If your flight isn't until later this week, you still have some time to monitor the status. I'd also keep all your travel documents handy and check the official guidance if the issue continues.

I traveled from London to Bengaluru last month and experienced something similar, but in my case the browser turned out to be the problem.

I initially used Safari on my MacBook, and the final page never finished loading. Later, I switched to Microsoft Edge on another computer and completed the application without any issues.

Before trying again, I cleared my browser cache and made sure I had a stable internet connection. I also took screenshots of each completed section in case I needed to re-enter the information.

Based on my experience, trying a different browser is worth considering before assuming the application failed.

I had exactly the same issue before my flight from Dubai to Delhi. After clicking Submit, the page just kept loading for several minutes. I didn't refresh it because I was worried it might interrupt the process, but eventually I closed the browser anyway.

About half an hour later, I checked the portal again using my application details, and to my surprise, the application had actually been submitted successfully. I was then able to download the QR code.

If you didn't receive any error message, it may be worth waiting a little before starting over. Temporary delays on government portals aren't unusual, especially during busy travel periods.

I traveled to India recently through Mumbai Airport and experienced a similar problem.

The application remained stuck on the final submit page for almost an hour. I later learned that the portal was undergoing maintenance around that time. When I retried the following day, everything worked normally.

One thing I would recommend is taking screenshots of every page before submission. If you need to contact support later, having screenshots and timestamps can be useful.

Also, don't rely solely on the confirmation email. In my case, the QR code became available inside the application dashboard before the email arrived.

Requirements and processing systems can change, so it may be worth checking the latest instructions on the official portal as well.

    My experience was slightly different.

I was applying from Canada and the final page froze every time I clicked submit. After several attempts, I discovered one of my uploaded documents exceeded the size limit even though the portal didn't show an error message. The upload appeared successful, but the final submission never completed.

I reduced the file size of my passport scan and photograph and started a new application. The submission worked immediately afterward.

    You may want to double-check:

    • Passport scan size
    • Photograph size and format
    • Internet connection stability
    • Special characters in address fields

Based on my experience, the system sometimes doesn't clearly identify upload-related issues.
