First and foremost, wear something in solid or neutral colors. Try to use natural light and use only a plain, light-colored background. Ensure that your head is centered within the frame, and your face should cover approximately 70-80% of the frame. Double-check the regulations before submitting your photo to make sure it meets all the guidelines.

Everyone mentioned the requirements regarding dimension, quality, lighting, etc., but facial expressions also play a vital role in your passport photo. You must maintain a neutral facial expression, without smiling or frowning, with your mouth closed and eyes open.  The expressions must look natural. The image must capture your full face, and a natural and relaxed smile is acceptable. However, exaggerated smiles may lead to rejection if they do not meet the requirement.

Hello, I recently applied for a passport, and my application got rejected due to a poor-quality photo. I reapplied, following the specifications, and my application was approved. To avoid such a situation, follow the requirements. The most basic requirement is to submit a color photo that is 2 inches by 2 inches in size and has a plain white background.

I can help you with the things to avoid in a passport photo. Do not wear head coverings, such as caps. Avoid wearing large or distracting accessories, and minimize unwanted shadows. Also, refrain from wearing tinted glasses, uniforms, or face coverings.
