I checked mine recently and found that the card format matters.
My PAN card didn't make the issue date as obvious as I expected, so I initially thought there wasn't one. I would not try to calculate the issue year from the PAN number itself. The PAN is a unique identifier; the characters aren't a straightforward date code. The Income Tax Department describes PAN as a ten-digit alphanumeric identifier.
If you don't have the physical card, the official Income Tax portal is still useful for verifying your PAN, but its published Verify PAN instructions focus on PAN, name, date of birth, mobile OTP and active status. They don't list the original issue date as an output.
So I wouldn't rely on random websites claiming they can retrieve the exact original issue date from just the PAN number.
If you have an old PAN allotment/intimation document, I'd keep that as another possible reference.
I had the same confusion when I needed my PAN creation date for some paperwork.
On my older physical PAN card, the Date of Issue (DOI) was printed vertically on the right-hand/lower-right portion of the card. It was shown as numbers without separators. For example, a date such as 10 July 2020 could appear as 10072020.
So if you have the physical card, I would check that area first. Several PAN information guides describe the issue date this way.
One thing that confused me initially was the difference between Date of Birth and Date of Issue. They obviously aren't interchangeable.
For online checking, the Income Tax Department's current Verify PAN Status service lets you verify PAN details and whether the PAN is active, but I wouldn't assume that the service displays the original PAN issue date.
If you need the date for a particular government form, I'd also check what that form specifically means by "PAN issue date" or "PAN creation date."
How to find issue date of uti pan card
If you want to find the issue date of your UTI PAN card, you can log in to the Income Tax e-Filing portal and view your PAN details under your profile information. The PAN allotment date (issue date) is usually available there.
If you do not have access to the e-Filing portal, you can also check any PAN allotment letter, email confirmation, or documents you received when the PAN was issued. In case you are unable to locate the issue date, you may contact UTIITSL customer support for assistance.
The PAN issue date and PAN allotment date generally refer to the same date.
Pan card issue date check simple process
You can check your PAN card issue date by following these simple steps:
Alternatively, if you have a physical PAN card, some PAN cards mention the issue date on the accompanying PAN allotment letter or related documents received during issuance.
If you do not have access to these documents, you can request a PAN verification or reprint service to obtain your PAN details.

One other thing to watch for is reissue versus original allotment.
If you have requested a replacement PAN card or a correction/reprint, the date associated with the physical card you're holding may not necessarily answer a form asking for the original PAN allotment/creation date.
The Income Tax Department confirms that existing PAN holders can use PAN-related services online and that PAN status can be verified through the e-Filing portal.
