I'm traveling from Dubai to India in four days and plan to complete my e-Arrival Card using the Su-Swagatam app. However, I've been unable to access the app since yesterday. It either stays on the loading screen or shows an error when I try to sign in.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, and connecting to both Wi-Fi and mobile data, but the issue hasn't been resolved. I also checked for app updates, and I'm already using the latest version available on my device.
I'm an Indian-origin UAE resident traveling on an OCI card, and this will be my first visit since the new digital arrival process was introduced. I'm beginning to worry because my departure date is getting closer.
Has anyone else recently had trouble accessing the Su-Swagatam app before travel? If the app isn't working, can I complete the e-Arrival Card through the official website instead, or is the app required?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this recently. I just want to make sure I'm following the correct process and avoid any last-minute issues at the airport.
I traveled from New York recently and couldn't get the app to open for almost an entire day. I thought it was something wrong with my phone, but later I found other travelers mentioning similar issues online around the same time.
The next morning the app started working again without me changing anything. If your trip is only a few days away, I'd personally avoid waiting too long and see if the official website allows you to complete the same process.
Just make sure you're using the official platform and save your application reference once it's submitted.
I experienced the same issue before my trip from London about two weeks ago. The Su-Swagatam app kept freezing on the login screen, so I switched to the official web portal and completed my e-Arrival Card there without any problems.
The application details were available when I logged in later, so it didn't seem like using the website caused any issues. Based on my experience, it's worth trying the web portal if the app continues to have technical problems.

I had a similar experience while traveling from Sydney. The app worked fine for entering basic information, but it crashed whenever I tried to continue to the next step.
Instead of spending hours troubleshooting, I completed the application on my laptop. Everything, including the QR code, was available afterward.
Technical issues can happen with any app, especially when many people are traveling. Requirements and system functionality may change over time, so I'd also check any official travel updates before your departure if the problem continues.
