An OCI holder cannot get an Indian passport directly. Once Indian citizenship is renounced and OCI is obtained, the person is treated as a foreign national. To get an Indian passport again, one must first apply for Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Act (naturalization), and only after citizenship is granted can an Indian passport be issued.

For residency proof, a passport entry stamp alone is not sufficient. Authorities usually ask for an Indian address proof. If living with parents, a parents’ address proof + a declaration/undertaking is generally accepted. Electricity bill or rental agreement is helpful but not mandatory if alternative proofs are provided.
