After the declaration letter is accepted by the Indian mission/ Post, or by the jurisdictional FRRO, you will get an acknowledgement number after the registration of the declaration, and you will not be an OCI cardholder.
An OCI card can be renounced by the OCI cardholder who is of legal age and has a declaration certificate registered with the central government. If an OCI cardholder has such cases, then they can renounce their OCI cardholder status.
For the OCI card, you need to visit the official website of the OCI services, choose your renunciation services, then you need to fill out the online application and submit a declaration certificate to the Indian Mission/post, and after it is approved by the central government, you need to wait for the registration of your declaration certificate. Once you receive the confirmation that your declaration is registered, you will not be an OCI cardholder.
