If you don’t have a criminal background, then your application will go smoothly,  without any rejection or delays. You will also get a high chance of visa application approval with a lot of visa actions to apply, but if you have any criminal record, then your visa application has low chances of approval, or if it gets approved, then you will get only limited options of visa to apply.

The impact will depend on the type and severity of the offence you have committed. For instance, if you have committed a minor offence, such as petty theft, it may be overlooked in certain situations. However, crimes like drug trafficking or terrorism will face denials.

You will face consequences if you have a criminal record on a visa application, and the impact may vary depending on the country. To make it easier, if you are visiting Canada, your entry may be refused if you have any convictions, including minor offenses, as the country is very strict regarding criminal records. At the same time, some other countries may make a decision based on the nature of your crime, the duration of the offense, and proof of rehabilitation.
