Can I Create a New e-Arrival Card If I Made a Mistake?

I recently completed the India e-Arrival Card online before my upcoming trip from the UK. After submitting the form, I realized I entered the wrong passport expiry date. Everything else, including my passport number and personal information, is correct, but the expiry date has one incorrect digit.

I'm a British citizen of Indian origin and will be traveling to India next week. I received the confirmation email for the e-Arrival Card, but I can't find any option to edit the submitted information. I searched online and found mixed answers. Some people say you can simply submit a new e-Arrival Card, while others mention that duplicate submissions could create problems at immigration.

Has anyone made a similar mistake on their India e-Arrival Card? Were you able to create a new application with the correct details, or did you need to contact the authorities first?

I'd also like to know whether immigration officers only verify the passport number or if they check every detail entered on the form. Since my departure date is getting close, I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary delays at the airport.

If anyone has recently traveled to India after correcting an e-Arrival Card, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. I understand procedures can change, so I'm mainly looking for recent experiences rather than official advice.

I don't think there's currently an edit option once an India e-Arrival Card has been submitted. A friend of mine entered the wrong nationality and had to complete another application before traveling.

One suggestion is to make sure every detail on the second submission exactly matches your passport, airline booking, and visa or OCI information if applicable. Even small spelling differences can sometimes create confusion during travel.

Also, save the latest confirmation email on your phone and print a copy if possible. While many travelers report that submitting a corrected form resolved their issue, individual cases can differ depending on the nature of the mistake and current immigration procedures. It's always safer to verify the latest official guidance before departure.

I traveled from Singapore a few months ago and accidentally selected the wrong arrival airport while completing my e-Arrival Card. I was worried I'd have to cancel my trip, but after reading recent travel discussions, I submitted another form with the correct information.

Everything worked normally when I arrived in India. The immigration officer didn't mention the earlier submission, although I carried both confirmation emails with me. From what I've seen, many travelers make small mistakes while filling out online travel forms.

Your error is related to your passport expiry date, so I would be a little more cautious. If there's enough time before your departure, you may want to verify the latest instructions from the official authorities to confirm whether a new submission is the recommended approach.

I had something similar happen earlier this year while flying from Toronto. In my case, I entered the wrong flight number on the India e-Arrival Card. After searching online, I couldn't find an edit option either.

Based on my experience, I completed a new e-Arrival Card with the correct information before my flight. At immigration, no one mentioned the earlier submission, and the process went smoothly. They mainly checked my passport and the latest details associated with my travel.

That said, your situation involves passport information, which may be more important than a flight number. If I were in your position, I'd submit a corrected application as soon as possible and keep copies of both confirmations just in case. Requirements can change, so it's worth checking any latest guidance before traveling.
