How to Get Police Clearance Certificate?

The process to apply for a PCC is similar to applying for a new passport or its renewal. Simply fill up the form online, take an appointment, visit the PSK and submit your passport, wait for police verification to complete without issues, and collect your PCC along with your passport.

You have to fill out the form online, then someone from the police station will call you for verification, where they will ask you to submit some documents. Then, after a few days, you will get a call from the DIG's office that your certificate is ready, and then you can go and collect it directly.

Getting a police clearance certificate is quite a straightforward process. You simply need to fill in the online form, book the appointment, and attend the interview at the PSK. After the police enquiry, if everything goes right, within 10 days, you will get your PCC via courier.

I applied for the PCC through the Passport Seva website and scheduled an appointment for the next day itself. I visited my nearest Passport Seva Kendra to submit my biometrics and document verification. After a few days, I received a call from the nearest police station. So, I went there and submitted my documents. Once the verification was done, I tracked my application status, and when I visited my nearest post office, I went there and collected it by myself.

I would suggest you get a Police clearance certificate from a Passport Seva Kendra if you are getting it to apply for a visa. There are some countries that do not accept a police clearance certificate from the police. Do check the requirements of the country you are applying for before getting your PCC.
