Yes, you can apply for a PAN card online. In the year 2003, the Income Tax Department rolled out the online PAN card application facility for its customers. Two government agencies, i.e., NSDL and UTIITSL, provide the online application facilities for a new PAN card for making corrections or updating the existing PAN card.
You can also apply for a PAN card online through the NSDL website, by going to the official NSDL portal, and selecting your application type as ‘ New PAN - Indian citizen (Form 49A), or New PAN - foreign citizen (Form 49AA), then choose the category and title and fill in your first, last, middle name, date of birth, email, and mobile number, and click on the checkbox, and enter captcha and click on ‘continue’. Then you will get a token number by which you can continue to fill out your application and fill in all the details, and upload all the documents for the PAN card application and pay the fee. After the successful payment, you will get an Acknowledgement number, by which you can see the status of your PAN card application.
Log in to the official UTIITSL or NSDL website. Click on "apply online" and fill out the appropriate form. Form 49 A for Indian citizens and NRIs, and Form 49AA for PIOs, OCIs, and foreign citizens. Fill out the application form with the correct information and upload all the mentioned documents, including address and ID proof. In last, pay the applicable application fee.
