What Information Is Required for the India e-Arrival Card?

I flew from Melbourne to Chennai recently.

Before opening the website, I prepared everything in a notes app:

• Passport information
• OCI details
• Flight itinerary
• Local address in India
• Phone number
• Emergency contact

That made the application much easier because the website logs you out if you're inactive for too long.

Based on my experience, it's worth gathering all your travel information before you begin rather than searching for it while completing the form. Requirements can always be updated, so I also checked the official instructions shortly before submitting.

My experience was similar when I traveled from Toronto to Bengaluru.

One thing I'd recommend is keeping your passport exactly as it appears because the form asks for information that should match your travel document. I also had my hotel booking available since I needed the address where I'd be staying during my trip.

I don't remember being asked to upload scans of my passport or OCI card. It was mostly entering information manually.

I'd also suggest double-checking your email address before submitting because that's where I received my confirmation.

I completed mine about two weeks ago before flying from New York to Delhi.

The form was pretty straightforward. I didn't have to upload any documents during my application, but I kept several things handy before I started. Having everything ready made the process much faster.

In my case, I entered:

• Address where I was staying in India
• Email address and mobile number
• Emergency contact details

The whole process took around 10 minutes because I already had my itinerary open. Once I submitted everything, I received a confirmation that I saved on my phone.

I completed the form as an OCI holder from Australia.

A friend traveling on a visa had similar questions. We both found that having hotel information and emergency contact details available beforehand made the process much faster.

Requirements can change, so it's always worth checking the latest instructions before traveling, but overall the form only took around 5–15 minutes to complete.
