What Information Is Required for the India e-Arrival Card?

I'm traveling to India next month from Canada and recently learned about the mandatory India e-Arrival Card. I've already booked my flights and accommodation, but I haven't started the application yet because I'm not sure what information I'll need to complete it.

I've seen different websites mention passport details, flight information, and contact information, but I can't find a complete checklist of the required fields. I don't want to start the application and then realize I'm missing important information halfway through.

For those who have already submitted the Digital e-Arrival Card, what details did you need to provide? Did you need your visa number, hotel address, emergency contact details, or any document uploads?

I'm traveling on an OCI card and a Canadian passport, so I'm especially interested in hearing from OCI cardholders who have completed the process recently.

Also, how long did it take you to fill out the form once you had everything ready?

I completed the form as an OCI holder from Australia.

Besides the standard passport and travel information, I was asked for:

    • Date of arrival
    • Country of departure
    • Accommodation details in India
    • Contact number
    • Email address
    • Purpose of travel

A friend traveling on a visa had similar questions. We both found that having hotel information and emergency contact details available beforehand made the process much faster.

Requirements can change, so it's always worth checking the latest instructions before traveling, but overall the form only took around 5–15 minutes to complete.

I traveled from the UK in April and submitted the Digital e-Arrival Card about two days before departure.

The information requested was very similar to the old paper arrival card we used to fill out on flights. I entered:

    • Passport details
    • Purpose of visit
    • Contact information
    • Flight details
    • Address in India
    • Emergency contact details

One thing that surprised me was that I didn't need to upload scans of my passport or visa. The form was mostly data entry rather than document uploads. After submission, I received a confirmation and QR code that I saved on my phone.

I completed the India e-Arrival Card last week before traveling from Toronto to Delhi.

The form was fairly straightforward once I had all my information ready. In my case, I needed:

    • Passport number and nationality
    • Passport issue and expiry dates
    • Flight number and arrival date
    • Arrival airport in India
    • Address where I was staying
    • Mobile number and email address
    • Emergency contact information

As an OCI cardholder, I also kept my OCI card details handy because some sections referenced my travel status. The entire application took around 10 minutes.

I would recommend having all travel documents open before starting because the session can expire if you leave it inactive for too long. Based on my experience, the process was much easier once everything was ready beforehand.
