India e-Arrival Card OTP Not Received – Solutions?

I'm flying from Singapore to Chennai in a couple of days and was trying to complete the new India e-Arrival Card online before my departure. Everything went smoothly until the OTP verification step.

I entered my email address and mobile number correctly, but I never received the OTP. I tried multiple times over the last few hours using both Wi-Fi and mobile data. I also checked my spam and junk folders, but there's nothing there.

For reference, I'm an OCI cardholder traveling on a Singapore passport, and this is my first time using the India e-Arrival Card system. I even tried a different browser and cleared my cache, but the issue is still the same.

Has anyone else experienced the India e-Arrival Card OTP not received problem recently? Were you able to fix it, or did you have to complete the arrival details after landing?

I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for others because my flight is getting close, and I'm starting to worry.

I experienced the same problem when traveling from the UK.

A couple of things that helped me were switching from my office Wi-Fi to mobile data and using a different browser. I also avoided requesting multiple OTPs in quick succession because that seemed to create more confusion.

If the OTP still doesn't arrive after waiting a reasonable amount of time, I'd keep screenshots showing the error and continue checking for any updates. Since system availability can change, it's worth verifying whether there are any official notices or maintenance updates before your flight.

I had this happen while completing the form from Australia.

For me, the issue seemed to be temporary. I waited about half an hour and tried again later in the evening, and the OTP was delivered almost immediately. I noticed a few other travelers mentioning similar delays around the same time, so it may have been a temporary system issue.

If you're using a corporate email account, try a personal email instead. That solved the problem for one of my colleagues.

I ran into the same issue last month before flying from Kuala Lumpur to Delhi.

In my case, the email OTP didn't arrive for almost 20 minutes, but the SMS OTP came through much sooner. I restarted the application instead of repeatedly clicking "Resend OTP," entered the details again, and the next OTP arrived within a few minutes.

I'd also suggest checking whether there's a typo in the email address, especially if your browser auto-filled it. That's what caused the delay the first time I tried.
