I'm traveling to India from the United States next week and recently completed the online e-Arrival Card before my departure. The application seemed to go through without any errors, and I received the confirmation message on the website. However, I'm running into an issue where the e-Arrival Card QR code is not downloading.
When I click the download button, nothing happens. I also tried opening the portal in Chrome, Edge, and Safari on both my laptop and phone, but the QR code PDF still won't download. I haven't received any email with the QR code either, so I'm starting to worry because my flight is only a few days away.
Has anyone experienced this recently? Is the QR code generated immediately after submission, or does it sometimes take a few hours? I submitted the form yesterday evening, so it's been around 18 hours now.
I'm a U.S. passport holder traveling on an OCI card, and this is my first trip since the digital e-Arrival Card process was introduced. I'm not sure whether I should submit another application or just wait a little longer.
If anyone has faced the same issue or found a solution, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked. I know these systems can occasionally have technical issues, and I don't want to create duplicate submissions if it's unnecessary.
My experience was a bit different. I was traveling from the UK and the QR code wouldn't open because my browser was blocking pop-ups and PDF downloads. Once I allowed pop-ups for the website and tried again on a desktop browser, the download worked immediately.
It's also worth checking whether your browser's download folder has the file but your browser didn't notify you. That happened to my husband during our trip.
Since requirements and portal behavior can change, I'd also verify that you're using the official government portal and not an older bookmarked page.
I had something very similar happen before my trip from Chicago in May. The submission was successful, but the e-Arrival Card QR code download didn't work for several hours. In my case, the portal eventually generated the QR code later that day without me having to submit a new application.
One thing that helped was logging back into the portal using the same application details instead of relying on the original confirmation page. I was then able to access and download the PDF normally.
If your application status shows that it was submitted successfully, I'd avoid creating another application right away. Sometimes the system seems to take a little time to process everything.

I traveled from Australia a few weeks ago and had no issues downloading the QR code, but I remember reading that some people experienced temporary portal problems during busy travel periods.
If you've already received a confirmation or application reference number, keep that information saved. Before submitting another form, I'd wait a little longer and see if the portal updates. If the issue continues, you may want to contact the appropriate support channel listed on the official website.
Based on my experience, duplicate applications can sometimes make it harder to track which submission is the correct one, so I'd only create a new application if you're sure the first one wasn't completed.
