How Long Does OCI Processing Take?

According to the Consulate General of India, a new OCI application can take up to 5-6 weeks from the date of application submission. If you are applying for a re-issuance or update in your OCI application, then it can take up to 6-7 weeks for the processing of your OCI card. This information was obtained after clearance of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

    The OCI application process generally depends on the application details. If you have entered all the information correctly, then it can take up to 5-6 weeks for a fresh OCI application, and if you have applied for a Re-issuance OCI application, then it may take up to 6-8 weeks for the processing.
