According to the Consulate General of India, a new OCI application can take up to 5-6 weeks from the date of application submission. If you are applying for a re-issuance or update in your OCI application, then it can take up to 6-7 weeks for the processing of your OCI card. This information was obtained after clearance of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

The OCI application process generally depends on the application details. If you have entered all the information correctly, then it can take up to 5-6 weeks for a fresh OCI application, and if you have applied for a Re-issuance OCI application, then it may take up to 6-8 weeks for the processing. However, if you have submitted the wrong details or forgotten to upload the essential documents, then you have to resubmit your OCI application with valid and correct documents.

An OCI application typically takes 5-7 weeks for processing of the OCI card. As I have filled out an online application form on the official OCI services website by filling in all the essential information and attaching all the supporting documents, then submitted my application, after this, I have booked an online appointment for the OCI card application and submitted my OCI application along with all the supporting documents I got my OCI card application in just a few weeks later.

I have filled out my OCI card application, but forgot to attach some essential documents for the OCI application, which resulted in the rejection of my application. Then, I filled out a new OCI application with all the correct documents, and the whole process took about 6 weeks to get my OCI card.
