I applied for a bank account earlier but missed an important document, so I reapplied and this time, I made sure to submit every required document, which helped my application get approved quickly.

As per my knowledge, if you have resided in India for more than 6 months, then you can open a bank account using an OCI card and have a regular savings account.

I was staying in India for the past 8 months, and I finally decided to open a bank account after seeing all the perks I was getting and also because I got a job. For me, it was a straightforward process as I followed all the requirements and submitted the documents accurately and on time.

With an OCI card, I had the option to open either an NRO, NRE, or FCNR account, but I chose to open an NRO account by keeping my requirements in mind.

Can I open a bank account in India for my minor? We just shifted to India for his further studies, and I want to open a bank account for him.
