As of 2024, based on the Henley Passport Index, the strongest passports in the world are held by citizens of France, Germany, Spain, Japan, Singapore, and Italy. These passports allow passport holders to travel visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 194 countries. Following closely behind them are South Korea, Sweden, and Finland, which allow access to 193 destinations. Third place is occupied by Denmark, Ireland, Austria, and the Netherlands, with 192 destinations accessible without a visa.

The passport allows its passport holders to travel visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 195 out of 227 countries across the globe. The second position of the strongest passport in the world is secured by Japan, which allows visa-free or visa-on-arrival to 193 destinations out of 227.

    As per the Nomad Passport Index, 2025, Ireland has the strongest passport in the world. The ranking is given to the Ireland passport on five criteria, i.e., tax policies, ease of travel, personal freedoms, ability to obtain dual citizenship, and global perception. Countries that dominate the other strongest passport lists, such as Japan and Singapore, have a low score in the annual ranking of the Nomad Capitalist.
